About Kerala Backwater Ayurvedic Retreats

Kerala is the original home of classical Ayurveda — a five-millennia-old medical system codified locally in palm-leaf manuscripts and practiced today in monsoon-season clinics from Kovalam to Kannur.

Treatment is doctor-led and slow: 14- and 21-night panchakarma programmes are the norm, sequencing massage, herbal steam, diet, and medicated oils with the kind of rigour you'd expect from a hospital.

Signature Rituals

01

Abhyanga — synchronised four-handed oil massage performed by two therapists.

02

Shirodhara — a continuous stream of warm medicated oil poured across the third eye.

03

Doctor-prescribed sattvic diet calibrated to your individual dosha.
