Atlas Mountain Hammams
Black-soap rituals and rose-clay treatments in mud-walled riads at the foot of the High Atlas.

About Atlas Mountain Hammams
The hammam is older than Morocco itself — Roman in origin, refined under successive caliphates, and codified into a weekly social ritual that still defines daily life in Marrakech, Fes and the Atlas valleys.
Contemporary destinations like Kasbah Tamadot, La Mamounia and the eco-lodges of the Ourika valley have rebuilt the experience as a multi-hour cleansing ritual without losing its communal heart.
Signature Rituals
Savon noir black-soap exfoliation followed by ghassoul-clay wrap.
Rose-water hydration treatments using Kelaat M'Gouna rose harvest.
Mint tea ceremony as the closing act of every hammam visit.
Frequently Asked
Public hammam or hotel hammam?+
Public is cheaper and culturally richer; hotel hammams are gentler, multilingual, and bookable in advance — try both.
What do I wear?+
Disposable underwear is provided in upscale hammams; public hammams remain modest, gender-segregated and swimsuit-free.
